Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL. With just the $5 parking fee to enter, you and your family will love the views while taking a stroll. The kids will have a blast climbing the several outdoor war tanks and cannon. The Museums at Cantigny preserve the captivating stories and experiences of great men. Step back in time and explore the life, family and passions of the great Robert McCormick on a guided narrative tour of his 20th-century mansion, the Robert R. McCormick Museum. Follow in the footsteps of real American heroes at the First Division Museum. Discover our American Military History, at your own pace, as told through gripping stories of the famed 1st Infantry Division. (Museums are closed on Mondays.) This is definitely a place worth visiting.
The Red Oak Nature Museum in Batavia, IL. – This one is Free to get in & worth it. Beautiful views and a cool little cave the kids enjoy. It is surrounded by 40 acres of lush forest and wildlife habitat. Click on the link to learn more.
